Would you like to volunteer and stay in your own room? We have lots of private room options available around the world at our volunteer projects. 

Volunteering overseas comes in lots of shapes and sizes and although it can be fun to share a room with other volunteers, we have options for those who prefer a bit of privacy at the end of a hard day's volunteering. Some of our projects have private rooms for all volunteers, whilst in others you can pay an upgrade supplement to have your own room. 

Here is a list of the amazing options where you can stay in your own room: 

room in Belize

Caribbean Reef Conservation in Belize – private room option

You can stay on the private tropical island in your own beach cabana! Our volunteers spend the week living on the island and diving nearby on the reef to help conserve the Caribbean Sea. After an evening playing games with fellow volunteers or relaxing in the hammocks you can head to bed in your own beach hut, falling asleep to the sound of the waves!

Cambodia Elephant Conservation in Cambodia – upgrade to private room

While looking after rescued elephants in the forest you can live in your own traditional jungle bungalow. The private bungalows are built in authentic wooden Bunong style. The bungalows are basic, but comfortably furnished with a double bed, tables and a chair and have ensuite bathrooms.

Wildlife Rescue in Costa Rica– upgrade to private cottage

After looking helping care for rescued sloths, monkeys and other exotic animals you can stay in your own cottage. They have fantastic views into the surrounding rainforest with mountain ranges looming in the distance. The cottages have an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and a balcony area. There is also swimming pool which all volunteers are welcome to use, or you can relax on one of the sun loungers!

Turtle & Wildlife Conservation in Costa Rica – private room included

At the end of busy day helping rescue turtles and tracking down crocodiles or butterflies all our volunteers can head back to their own private room. The rooms are at research centre and each room has a fan, storage, drawers and mosquito screens on the windows.

Elephant Care and Research in South Africa – upgrade to luxury lodge room

After researching and helping care for the elephants in the day why not sleep next to them at night? Volunteers have the option to upgrade to the elephant lodge where you can have the unique opportunity to have an elephant sleepover - relax watching the elephants sleep in their inside enclosure in the evening. The rooms are beautifully designed and feel very luxurious!

Elephant and Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka – upgrade to private room option

Living next to the national park is the perfect location to help wild elephants and track local wildlife. If you don’t fancy staying in the volunteer dormitory then you can stay in a house next door in your own simple private room. 

Room in Thailand

Dog Rescue in Thailand – private room included

After a busy day walking, socialising and playing with the rescued dogs all our volunteers head back to their own private room in a lovely guesthouse. Each room has an ensuite bathroom, hot shower, air conditioning, small fridge and WIFI. It’s a short walk from a stunning beach which has restaurants, bars and shops.

Elephant Care and Wildlife Rescue in Thailand – upgrade to luxury lodge room 

After a hard days work preparing food for the elephants and wildife at our rescue centre you can upgrade to the special elephant lodge. With a swimming pool and views over your elephant neighbours this is an amazing place to relax at the end of the day. There are large beds, ceiling fans and ensuite bathrooms.

Room in Thailand

Marine Conservation in Thailand – private room included or upgrade to premium room

All our Marine Conservation volunteers get to relax in their own room after a busy day diving. Standard rooms are ensuite with a fan and cold water shower.  However if you would prefer air-con and hot water showers then you can upgrade to a premium room located by the beachfront next to the dive school, for a weekly supplement. These rooms have lovely views over the bay.
